It was an enjoyable weekend here at our home. Hubby was off on Friday, and we did some work here around the house, and then we went into town for a few things. Friday evening Hubby, and the older children went to Elijah's playoff game...it was cold out so the little ones, and I stayed home, and I listened to the game online.
After the game, Elijah, had a friend stay over for the weekend, and we had pizza, pop, and some snacks. On Saturday, we did lots of running taking the children to youth events, and, football, but, we still had lots of time to work out in the yard, and garden. After our garden, and yard work was done, Loren, and I, and the two little ones went out for ice cream before we picked up all the other children from their youth activity.
Sunday we went to church, then came home, and had our Pre-Thanksgiving dinner. We had turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, cranberry sauce, and homemade bread. It was a good meal, that was topped off with some pumpkin pie for dessert.
After dinner, most of us went outside...the children to jump on the trampoline, and play football, me to rank some more leaves, and hubby to take a part off of his car, that needs to be fixed. Shane, Elijah's friend left late in the afternoon, and then we all got ready to go back to church.
After church last evening we had turkey sandwiches, and some of the leftover pumpkin pie for our snack, and everyone just relaxed a little bit before bed.
Today, hubby was home again. He has quite a few vacation days to use up before the end of the year. He was able to get the part fixed on his car, and we did a few small projects here around the house. I did most of my usual Monday chores today, and was able to get outside to rake some more leaves, hang up clothes.
I also made a turkey pot pie, two loaves of bread, and a large apple pie today. The pot pie was very good, and so was the apple pie. It would have been nice to share some pie, and coffee with friends, and family, but, we enjoyed it anyway.
I need to get off here, and do a little office work. Hubby is at a deacon's meeting, and should be home soon.
